Koshou did not answer Rekka's call - and there was no time to wait for an answer either as the gigantic spider continued to resist the fiery Reaper's Bankai. With its horde of offspring mostly gone, falling to earth as screeching comets of hellfire, Jurogumo wrestled with the skeletal arms attempting to dismember it limb from limb. At first, its struggles were seemingly for naught, as one jointed chitinous leg was ripped free from its socket with an ear-splitting scream from the hellish arthropod, making Rekka wince as well from the assault on his eardrums. But his eardrums weren't the only ones assaulted, as he soon found out.
"Wha--" Sensing a throbbing pain in his forearm, Rekka rolled up his Shihakusho sleeve to reveal two puncture wounds tinged with purple corruption, mirroring the holes left by the spider bite on his manifested Bankai. It was not totally unexpected, however, as he'd heard of similar abilities wherein damage to the manifested spirit was reflected on the user. A quick Kiyomeru talisman sucked out much of the venom, though the puncture wound would take a bit longer to heal.
"STAND POWER!" The Third Seat prepared to fight once again, even with a weakened arm, but Jurogumo seemingly sensed a change in the atmosphere and decided to back off into the Hell Gate on its remaining legs. Rekka, not one to interfere with a retreat, simply allowed it to do so, helping to close the gate before dispelling his Bankai.
"Dim Sum?"
The 11th Division member appeared beside Rekka, inviting him to dinner.
"Why stop there? Let's splurge before we're inevitably banned from New York."
