Glassgow.

Even though it has the same latitude as Moscow, it's location near the head of the river made it's climate oceanic and so while they do have a cool temperature even in summer, it also means it's not bloody freezing. The train trip she took via King's Cross station took her almost a quarter of the day but it allowed her to review the file of the newcomer she was supposed to pick up.

A combat medic that goes by the name of Emilia Rooks, her power recently awakened during a Menos Grande rampage during her service in the Middle East. Thanks to her testimony of her encounter, she was considered mentally unfit and was then medically discharged from the army. Her background in military interest the Red Lotus greatly, so much so that they sent not one but two people to pick her up and possibly recruit her to their cause.

The other person that was supposed to join her on this recruiting mission was someone named Valentina Torekova. As they have yet to meet, they were both given pictures of each other on their phone as a guide. Although this was not her first time in this city, there was no way for her to know if it was the same for the other lass she's supposed to meet so instead she arranged their meeting point at one of the most prominent tourist center, George Square. From there, it was just a matter of tracing and narrowing down those who have high amount of reishi. Fortunately for her, it didn't take too long to find the girl in question.

"Sup."

The United Kingdom is a magical wonderland where every city and town has a towering castle with dragons and princesses, where people ride horses and dress in beautiful ballroom dresses or full sets of knight armor at any time, the sun is always bright and you can get a puppy in every city square. After all, it is a kingdom, it has a queen, princes and princesses, and Val used to read about how they were getting married, so clearly there was some rescuing of princesses happening too.

Reality, of course, turned out to be disappointing. Glasgow looked hardly any different from Moscow - the same skyscrapers, the same streets, the same dress code on those streets. There wasn't even any sunlight, the sky was covered in gloomy clouds. But that's what reality always does, doesn't it? You come up with the wildest dreams, then you open your eyes and you see squat.

Whatever. Val arrived to George Square after a good hour of bumbling around Glasgow's old town like the clueless tourist that she was - almost immediately, her senses caught a spiritual energy signature suspiciously similar to hers, indicating that it too was a Fullbringer. If that wasn't this "Diana" person she was tasked to work with today, then...

Val's mind dropped that incomplete sentence and stepped forward, through the crowds - a mere minute later, she got stopped by a woman with bleached white hair, and before Val could even tell them off, they blurbed out a very brief "Sup."

That's Diana, isn't it? She certainly matched the picture sent. Immediately, Val reached into her toolbox and pulled out a bounty from her travels across Glasgow - a small book of Scottish slang phrases.

"I got us a way to communicate here," she spoke as she waved the book around and grinned. "Allow me to demonstrate. Yer lookin' a bit peely-wally, ar'nt ye?"

Well well, looks like her mate is the punctual type. Wearing bright red outfit that stood out immediately in this crowd, fashionable and had she not bothered to check her reishi she would have dismissed the girl as some starry eyed kid whose waiting for her date. The girl looked surprised at first but that change to recognition, good, safe her the trouble of introduction. One of her eyebrow slightly raised when she saw Valentina reach out into her toolbox and pull....a book? How to speak like the Scotts? The girl then choose a phrase from the book and state she looks rather pale.

At first there was silence. Safe for the cold, chilly wind.

Her lips curled into a smile before she cracked up laughing. Hard and loud to the point that some of the passerby glanced at their direction. And it lasted for quite a while. By the time when she was done, her rib slightly hurt and she was wiping tear slightly from her eye from too much laughing.

"Hoo....Thanks for the laugh ya cheeky runt. C'mon then, we got a hire car for us to use."

With that, she would turn around and head towards the parking lot, clearly expecting the lass to catch up with her. It was your regular black saloon, meant to transport 4 people. She stopped slightly, eyes glancing towards her companion's direction.

"Do ya drive mate?"

Producing the key, she jingle it a bit in indication. Should Valentina say yes and offer to drive, she would toss the key to her direction and let her take the wheels. Otherwise, she would slip straight seat into the driver seat and start the engine to drive them to the next destination.

"So how was your trip?"

When Diana's stoic face broke into a laugh, Val snickered and folded her arms behind the back of her head. She hadn't thought of it as that good of a joke, but apparently her fellow Fullbringer liked it. With a smile now plastered on her face, she put her booklet away and hopped after her peer, out of the square and to the nearest parking lot.

Val opened her mouth a bit, gawking at the saloon, only to stop when Diana turned to ask if she was able to drive.

"I never learned to," the Fullbringer blurbed out. "By the time I was old enough for that, I could already get around with my powers, so I never really needed it." she added while taking the passenger's seat and leaning back to immerse herself in the comfort. She was about to start asking questions herself, but Diana beat her to the punch - inquiring on what her trip here was like.

"Oh, well..." Val began figuring out her reply, stumbling around for a second, unsure from where to start. "Well I suppose it was kind of uneventful - I only got to fight, like, ten Hollows on the whole way here... considering that and the disappointment after first coming to this country, I can safely say that this mission's off to a poor start."

The Fullbringer turned to her side window, gluing her face to it.

"Does this city even have a castle? Where are all the spires and the city walls? Why did they even call it a "Kingdom" if this just looks like any other country?"

"Oh? I suppose it does but it never hurts to pick up driving lesson when you have the chance. Helps you do this trick easier."

With that she took off both hands from her steering wheel before taking out her cigarette pack and her lighter. Placing one in between her lips, she would light it up with her other hand leaving the steering wheel unattended. Yet they were in no danger of crashing into another car, as if a pair of invisible hands steered them in her place.

"Want one?"she offered, holding a cigarette pack in her direction even as she listened to Valentina's complain about how uneventful her trip was. A bemused smile form on her face as she listened, she certainly has spunk to her if her complains was having less than a dozen Hollow to slay along the way. Their topic then shifted to existence of a castle within Glasgow and her grin grew wider. She supposed she don't mind playing a tour guide for someone from out of country.

"'course we do. Well, castles at least. Not in the city proper though, ya need to take a different route."

With that she would drove the car via the scenic route, away from the urban area. In the far distance, they would spot an old abandoned castle to which Diana would point should Valentina somehow missed it. Of course, if Valentina was hoping for a castle that the royalties actually live in then they're on the wrong part of the Kingdom.

"There, ya notice that? Used to be...."

Whatever she had planned to say next died in her throat as the unimaginable thing happen. An explosion enveloped the abandoned castle not too soon after she pointed at it. Her cigarette nearly fell from her lips as her jaw went slack.

"Bloody hell..."

Well what do you know? Turns out fantasy and magic really are real - you just gotta look at the right places! Hearing Val's lamenting about the United "Kingdom's" distinct lack of anything royal-like, Diana calmly explained that they simply aren't in their view yet - and as soon as the fellow Fullbringer turned her car in order to take a more scenic route, an awe inspiring sight unfolded before their eyes.

A castle, standing upon a hill overseeing the city - by now, because of its growth, the city has surrounded the hill, but surely, in the past, the town below was merely a blip compared to the menacing fortress. Val's eyes were still glued to the window and she was already starting to imagine a tale, of conquest and war, of an army of menacing evil knights riding up to the fortress as its last defenders cling onto their hope for a relieving force, both sides determined to push through and see a victory, for the fate of the entire kingdom and their faith was at stake, and-

It blew up.

Right before their eyes, so suddenly and so powerfully that even Diana was left in shock. In that one flash, the entire castle got engulfed, screams of shock and terror immediately follows. Tales and dreams all vanished in a blaze.

"I'll kill them, I'll fucking kill whoever did this!" Val yelled in fury, scrambling to pop her seatbelt off and crack open the door. If nothing dared to stop her, she'd jump right out of the car and into the traffic.

It took Diana a few seconds to process what had just happened.

Are they under invasion? Is it a terrorist attack? So many questions flooded her mind that she took too long to react to Valentina leaving the saloon and only realized when the girl was already hitting the pavement. Goddamit, this mission really is off to a poor start.

"Oi Valentina! Calm your tits mate, I'm gutted too but raging ain't gonna help us here!"

After a slight struggle with the seatbelt, she would run after the girl from behind even as she took out her cellphone. She could see some people running towards their direction, others got out of their car to take a picture of what just happen. Whoever or whatever is behind this, she needed someone else to get informed. But the familiar operator voice greeted her ears that she didn't even bother to listen to the end of the speech.

"No signal?? You gotta be taking the piss! Why now of all times??"she complained even as she soon caught up with the girl. With all the people running towards them though either by foot or on car though, manuvering through them would be a difficult task so instead she grab her hand.

"Listen, I know this place better than you. Just follow my lead."

With that she would pull her towards the alley with the attempt to use shortcut to get to the area quickly. Their feet stopped however, when they were greeted by the lady they were supposed to meet. She had her gun trained on them immediately and from the look on her face, she had no hesitation to shoot them if necessary.

"Don't fookin move. There are two types of people who would rushed to the area, either you coppers or you wiv them." the girl said with a very thick Scottish slangs. She then cocked the gun, her finger ready to squeeze the trigger.

"And you don't look like bloody cops to me."

Immersed in the heat of the dramatic moment and thus caught completely unaware, Val got yanked out of the crowd practically with no resistance, though she continued to grumble about having been forced to follow Diana afterwards. Picking up the pace, she followed right after her fellow Fullbringer, to the point where she no longer needed to be handheld - and then immediately stopped, facing off against the cold barrel of a pistol aiming right between her eyes.

Normally, that wouldn't be much cause for concern, Val's Fullbring was able to dispatch of worse odds without issue. However, the young woman almost instantly recognized the face staring at the duo - it was the prospective member of the organization which Red Lotus informed them about and sent them to retrieve. A bullet fired by a pissed off Fullbringer was going to hit quite a lot harder, especially if that gun was her Fullbring.

"Calm your tits mate, we're not here to hurt you," Val replied immediately after raising her hands and backing away, aiming to repeat the accent with which Diana said that same expression to her moments ago. "And we're not cops either. We just... wanna figure out what's going on."

Upon hearing the warning and seeing the barrel of the gun, Diana stopped immediately as well as slowly raised her hands into air. She gave a silent look towards Valentina, sure enough she had the same look of recognition on her face. When Valentina attempted to mimick her accent, her lips stretched tight uncertain as she look back at Emily in the eyes. How would she react to that?

Time to stretch for a bit before a small chuckle escaped from her lips as she finally lowered her gun.

"Take it yer not from 'round here. Talk but don't waffle. Who are you lot?"

Exhaling before lowering her hands, Diana decided to reply first.

"My name Diana Chase and this is my colleague..."to which she paused for a bit so as to let Valentina introduce herself. The girl nodded silently and though she lowered her gun, she appear to be guarded still.

"We just got here when we saw the castle went up in flame. Mind telling us what'cha know?"

At this point, Emilia furrowed her brows as her lips pursed slightly. It was hard to tell from her expression what she was thinking and under her gaze, one couldn't help but feel like they're under heavy scrutiny.

"Fancy yourself private eye eh? This ain't place for civvies, you should leave this place quickly. Or they'll come and get'cha."

Not too soon after she said that, an arrow made of pure reishi suddenly struck her in the shoulder. Gritting her teeth from the pain, Emilia leaned against the wall as she looked at the other end of the alley where the attacker was. There was a man dressed in pure white military uniform, armed with what appear to be a bow made of pure energy. Turning to the side, he shouted something in German to someone else, presumably his allies. Should any of them have a good understanding of German, they would know that he's shouting "I found her, over here!"

"Shite, quincies!" Diana cursed.

Manifesting a gunblade in her hand, she immediately stepped forward so as to cover Emilia from any further shots. Hurried footsteps of heavy boots can be heard from their surrounding swiftly approaching their area. If they were to do something, they need to do it fast.

"Valentina Tokareva," Val blurbed out when she was given her cue to introduce herself, almost missing the baton passed to her and so making the few seconds prior a little bit awkward. It did not disrupt the conversation, however, and having come to terms with the fact that neither of the Fullbringers were after her, Emilia loosened up.

And then got struck with an arrow.

Blyat.

So that's what was probably up with the castle and its untimely fate. Several Quincies had been trailing after Emilia while the three of them were chatting, and now, as soon as the white cloaks caught up, they struck their target straight in the shoulder. Val's mind immediately began to recall what Iwan ( ) had informed her about after their skirmish. Hollow Reishi is poisonous to Quincies, even if bottled up in a distinctly not-Hollow vessel like a Fullbringer. Chances are that this gang of Quincies took her as a threat when they caught wind of Emilia's presence.

Diana immediately unfolded a weapon and stepped forward to cover her allies, but while taking a stand was alluring, there were too many of the Quincies for the two Fullbringers to pull it off without seriously endangering the person they were supposed to escort. Which is why a different idea popped to Val's mind.

"Cover me for a bit."

The Fullbringer suddenly shoved her hand into her toolbox, the Fullbring expanding and mechanically unfolding, quickly covering up its wielder's arm and then the rest of her body, until it took the shape of a suit of power armor.

Immediately, Val swept up Emilia from her feet and leapt, the feet of her Fullbring armor unveiling a set of rocket boots to propel her out of the alley.

"Way ahead of you sistah."

As Valentina reached for her toolboox, Diana would grab her necklace and focused her reishi into them. Clad in almost head to toe in armor black as the darkest night, the only weapon out of place was the gunblade in her hand. Flames made of reishi surrounded her, though more for intimidation purpose than actually harming them.

"So! Tae all yah fyne dandies, so proud, so cocksure, gallivanting around with your heads full of eyeball. Come and git me I'll say, I'll be waiting for ye with fire and brimstone!"

Her accent, which she greatly embellished her own accent for effect rendered the Quincies gobsmacked. One thing for sure, they dare not try to push past her as they weren't sure if the flames were for show. In the corner of her eyes, she can see Valentina donning what appears to be a power armor, straight outta like that one American film.

"HAVE AT YE!"

Not waiting for them to gather their composure, a fireball was tossed at the direction of the quincies involved, acting as a decoy so that Valentina would have some time to move her out of the way. Meanwhile, Emilia seems flummoxed on what just happened as the girl scooped her up and fly out of the way.

"Wh-where are you holding you cheeky tart?? And are we leaving that lass back there by herself??"

Diana wasted no time - even before Val leapt off with their Fullbringer in tow, she was already arming herself with her Fullbring. Hers took the form of a suit of armor as well - but whereas Val's Liberator transformed into a suit of futuristic battle armor which wouldn't look out of place in a science fiction cartoon, Diana's was dark and medieval, surrounded by flames summoned by its wielder which kept the Quincies at bay. From the confidence behind her stature and words, Val wanted to believe that she will have no trouble handling them, but... you never know.

Emilia, meanwhile, wasn't too happy with being lifted away, to which Val responded only with a scoff and an eye roll until the two of them finally landed on a nearby rooftop, giving them a bird's eye view of the battle in the alleyway. There, Val let Emilia go and pulled a curved, scythe-like blade from her Fullbring armor's wrist.

"We're in too sticky of a situation to worry about touching places and revealing panties, you know," the Fullbringer explained, her eyes shifting from side to side and focusing on any more spiritual energies in their vicinity. Quincy signatures were not the easiest to discern from the background noise, but they were certainly recognizable - and this place had plenty of them. "We're not gonna leave her there - but chances are we'll have plenty of our own shit to dig throgh before we can get back to Diana."

Over her shoulder, Val turned towards Emilia. She wasn't sure how much the woman knew about their people's powers, but it couldn't hurt to check.

"This one's a long shot, but do you have something with you that you really care for? Like, something you'd try to protect no matter what?"

The surprise look on the faces of her adversary was quite priceless. Clearly they didn't expect their quarry to have allies of her own, even if they probably outnumbered her 10 to 1. Being in an alley, it limited their numerical advantage somewhat but even she could only buy them some time before the line would be broken through. Time that Valentina immediately capitalized by moving their charge out of the way.

There was a panicked sound as the Quincies scrambled out of the way of the flaming ball of reishi heading their way, their squeaky clean suits charred by flames and a couple got engulfed by flames. Her lips twisted into a psychotic smile as she watched them frantically trying to get rid of the flame on them, the smell of burning flesh permeates the air as she cackled in laughter. An attempt to make them focus on her and allow others to sneak away in the chaos.

"Oi! Where are you wankers running to?? The barbeque is this way mate!"

Flustered, the rescued girl attempted to composed herself by clearing her throat and inspecting her own injury. It was a spur of the moment, she was mostly taken aback with what had just happen. She would immediately take out a bandaid to treat herself when Valentina asked her about things that she really care for. At first she raised an eyebrow, she had her own questions to ask before turning around so Valentina can see the revolver inside her gunholder on her hip which she had aimed in their direction earlier. Should the Fullbringer study it closely she would notice it's an antique revolver, a Webley Revolver which was no longer in production.

"This burner here. It's a heirloom, made in the late 1800s. Ain't sure why but packed enough heat to slug lead like a hi-power sniper rifle. Used it to shoot down masked blokes in Baghdad, Iraq."

If pressured for detail, Valentina would know that the masked blokes were in reference to Hollows, though Rooks did not seem knowledgeable enough about the underworld to know that term. Meanwhile, the quincies that were not in Diana's immediate sight try to take over other routes from the rooftop as they seek for their elusive quarries.

Hearing Emilia explain herself and gesture towards her revolver, Val put on her smuggest smirk yet - and why would she not? After all, everything was proceeding exactly as she had foreseen. The Fullbringer stepped forward and moved her hands towards her peer's shoulders - not actually touching them, however, keeping her palms just a little above.

"Sounds magical, doesn't it?" she spoke, her voice almost giggity, despite the tense skirmish the two of them were technically in - and being well aware that Quincies were likely going to try to close in on them as they spoke. "Now close your eyes and imagine it turning into something even more awesome. Trust me. All your dreams can become real with just the flick of a thought."

Val then stepped back, her spiritual energy senses immediately kicking her back into reality. Diana was busy terrorizing the Quincies down below, but there was only so many people she could keep busy at any given time - and sensing that several signatures were now advancing up the building, Val could only figure that a few of them managed to slip Away. No matter. After all, it wouldn't be fair to let her hog all the fun.

"...And when you're done, follow after me."

Suddenly, the blade extending from Val's arm slashed across the roof below, cutting through like butter and getting the armored Fullbringer to crash down to the lower floor - right in front of a group of unsuspecting Quincies who were likely hoping to catch her off-guard.

"Hello, boys!" she yelled, and then leapt forward with bloodthirst.

Magical...yes, that was the word she was looking for.

The last few days had been quite the crazy for her. Seeings things that nobody else couldn't, being hunted by a group of organization that would have branded her as crazy conspiratorial theorists if she attempted to share with the media and now she was saved by two girls wearing chronologically opposite armor. Though she was trained in military, it did little preparing her for this and just barely sufficient in order to survive in this world. In the first place, she wasn't supposed to be on the front line as her job was moreso to provide aid and succor to her wounded allies. There are so many questions she wished to ask but for now there was only one thing she could do.

Concentrate.

The air felt strange. Thick and heavy...it took her a moment to realize that it came from Valentina. There was also a slightly different feeling coming from the pursuers before her. She recalled the English girl refer to them as quincies. Emilia wasn't sure if they're their enemies but right now, she knew they are hostile. And there are multiple of them.

Yes despite the strangeness of the situation, one can basically boil down the fight to it's basics. The enemies are fond of projectile weapons which was why she led them here in first place. With different levels of elevation and walls blocking the way, they would have to actually be on the same level and close to them to shoot. Sure, one can shoot from a lower angle to those on top but anyone who takes a shooting class would know the difference in elevation would make.

But now that they're bunched up together, one weapon comes to mind. A fully automatic firearm that had dominated the battlefield ever since it gets introduced. By itself, it lacks power but in a confined area like this with those two, it would be more than sufficient against her opponents. And lo and behold, just as Valentina suggested her revolver takes the shape of a machine gun. She was surprised at first but recovered fairly quickly after that and would immediately join the crimson girl.

Meanwhile, the quincies who attempted to surprise her took an involuntary step back as they watch their armored comrade fall to the ground with a huge crash. Some of them immediately manifest their bow, before their eyes widen as the girl decked out with power armor was soon accompanied by the one they shot earlier who picked up a machine gun from god knows where.

There are seven of them....six if you don't count the one who had just turned into a pancake. Fear had taken control of two of them and they would immediately turn to take flight while the remaining three attempted to held the ground and shoot at the pair. They were yelling something about Hollows but that's the only discernible words the machinegun wielding girl can pick up from their language.

Meanwhile, Diana took out her gunblade from the Quincy she had just slain. Blood dripped slowly from her blade as she head back towards where Valentina and Emilia are waiting, having taken care most of the ones on her end. The tip of her weapon raked against the wall, announcing her presence much like the reaper's scythe. If any of them escaped the pair, they would have to deal with her.
