Nezuel stepped from the black void between dimensions and stood on the reishi platform he had gathered before him.  His white arrancar uniform blew in the breeze as the wind swept around him, unhindered by the trees and buildings below as he stood several hundred feet in the air.  His eyes looked around him, taking in the morning view and the sun casting a red light over the water below.  This place...was familiar to him and yet it was so long ago that it was hardly recognizable.  Even now images of wooden ships overplayed and fought with the metal vessels within the waters.  He sighed, chiding himself mentally, he had come here for a reason and that reason was here infront of him.

He looked down, finding the church below him, seeing the people moving in an out of it.  It didn't deserve to be corrupted like it was, to be taken over by such people.  He held out a hand, a single finger extended as he gathered energy.  Crimson energy began to gather on the tip of his finger as he remembered its name.  The Great Wisdom they called it, the literal translation coming to mind...perhaps it deserved to be lost. Yet the blast didn't come, the cero upon his finger staying there...until it slowly dissipated.  This...wasn't his world anymore...perhaps that human had been right and he was nothing more than an invader...still a hollow that could only cause issues wherever he went.

His head snapped to the side, bringing him out of his thoughts as he felt something..familiar and yet odd, was it an arrancar or something else...it felt similar.  He wondered what another of his kind was doing here so far from the spiritually rich Tokyo.  Constantinople was a place he thought he would be alone...but as he started to head towards the signature, perhaps he would find that he was mistaken.

SUFRE HEVEL BARDALES
Arrancar
Location:Realm of the Living

𝖳𝖠𝖦𝖲:

A shipload of memories lost in time

Death to the traitors… to the murderers and all the vile. To those hungry for power, and to those who condone such things. They do not deserve to live. Or be given peace. They are destined to wallow in their own mud, haunted by the stench of all those they killed… of those who suffered under their puppetted authority.

That was his resolve, when he was still human. But not anymore.

Sufre was once a mercenary; ironically; a hired assassin tasked to kill the corrupt and put an end to their evil ways. He leeched off the blood of his victims, looting their golds as compensation for their vanity, their selfishness which seemed to reach no end.

Then again, how was he different from them? If he lived only to kill? Death should have been his saving grace. It should have given him the peace he wanted. When King’s Glaive met their end, he thought they were done for good. Yet, Fate could be playful sometimes, and so, here he was, still alive. Not alive, in a sense that he has a physical body, but his soul was still breathing, albeit tainted. And corrupt. But perhaps still far better than those he killed.

The black suited arrancar stood above the large mast of a galleon. A ship lost in time; locals did not know how it got here. Surely all the wooden cargos have either sunk in the deep waters or have already been captured or replicated to be displayed in grand museums. But here stood the vessel in all its once youthful glory.

He remained still, alert of his surroundings while he waited for the right opportunity. True, he was now a soul, and most people could not see him anymore, but there could also be fullbringers around, or worse, death gods who dutifully comply with their tasks. Soldiers who seem to lack brains, who could not think for themselves and obey their authorities blindly.

Eyes fixed on his prize, he gradually felt a signature coming closer… it was easy to detect he was a fellow arrancar, although he tended to have some animosity to most of them. None of them have heard of him, at least that was what he thought. It was unlikely that the young midget arrancar back in Hueco Mundo told the Hollow Queen about him, or the mistress who he didn’t hesitate to kiss just to shut her up.

He was merely wandering in the realms on his own. Like a lost soul still finding its purpose. A ship without a captain.

A human, who still seemed to be a prisoner of his past.

His wanderings took him to a ship, an impressive thing truly.  His own nation had been mostly landlocked so he didn't get to experience much when it came to such things but when he had been a prisoner within this city such lessons had been enforced on him under fear of death.  Not his death, mind you, just someone, somewhere, from his country.  The thought caused his spiritual energy to flare, alerting the being, the other arrancar, to his presence even if he didn't know about it already.  Perhaps he would understand it as a courtesy, to tell him that he didn't plan on sneaking up on him, even if it was accidental.

Nezuel found himself joining the arrancar wearing black on the other mast across from him.  Two arrancars, one white and one black...now all they needed were pawns and perhaps they could play chess...though that analogy didn't work out....perhaps checkers then?  If that was the case then the only questions was, at the end of all of this, which one would be red?

"Good evening" he would say as his shoes touched the top of the mast.  "I didn't realize there were other arrancars in this city...you're actually the first I've seen in the material world." he'd tilt his head at the odd arrancar, eyes looking over his body.  Did the man not belong to the Queen's forces...the white uniform, the color of death?

"Are you here for something....maybe I can help?"

SUFRE HEVEL BARDALES
Arrancar
Location:Realm of the Living

𝖳𝖠𝖦𝖲:

His gaze darted towards the other spiritual being; his expression veiled under his mask. Slowly, he turned around, ignoring both the questions, and instead studied the newly arrived arrancar from head to foot. He wore the same standard uniform of those belonging to Las Noches, except for the extra linen wrapped around his neck, serving as a cloak. It was nothing fancy nor anything that stands out from the crowd, heck, it wouldn’t even be noticeable at first glance. Perhaps, it was something memorable for him. People tend to bring with them something that is always significant to them. They keep it as memento… something precious to hold onto. No matter how silly or simple it was, if it was meaningful for them, they’d carry it proudly along with them. No matter where they go. It was as if it was part of their own identity… or of their body they think they couldn’t live without. He had been there. And there were even still habits he couldn’t easily shake off from his humanity after being turned into a tainted, empty soul called arrancar.

Sufre then again turned his back on the arrancar, without saying anything; focusing instead on the busybodies among the crew.

Any moment now…

Except—

His knife passed before the other arrancar, along with the metal wire, piercing through the mysterious being that was about to attack the white robed man.

The man fell down off the mast, which caused alarm to the crew preparing to leave. Apparently, they could see both, which only meant that they too were spiritual beings. Perhaps fullbringers or quincies, or both.

For how many months Sufre was tracking down a secret organisation related to the Vatican. Rumour has it, there was a special force of Swiss Guard quincies protecting the Church. Other hearsays say it was a group of fullbringers.

There was only one person who could bring him to them, a blonde man, who he saw during his investigation in Greece, and one he had been tailing him since then. However, after the Sky Fall, as the humans had termed it, he could not track him anymore. For some odd reason. Or maybe the world is too large for him to meet the young blonde again.

This mission was supposedly different from his previous investigation but if it happened that this was connected to the organisation related to the Church... well, what do you know, hitting two birds with one stone.

The strange arrancar in front of him didn't speak back to him, a troubling start to say the least.  He knew it was possible that the arrancar couldn't speak, some of his kind having some flaw or failure as they were turned into arrancar duing this soul suicide and subsequent rebirth...but those so affected typically took on a more bestial nature or otherwise couldn't seal their hollow selves into the form of a zanpaktou.  Did he simply not wish to talk, not wish to talk to him, the rudeness of it. Although perhaps his mental question was answered as the attack moved past him and took out someone, Nezuel had neither seen nor sense.  He watched the body as it fell, curious to the human's reaction to it down below.  Imagine his surprise when they looked up and noticed the pair.

"You helped me...I suppose, but also made things rather difficult down there."  His left hand moved to the hilt of the sword on his waist, making sure it was still there, ready at a moment's notice to be drawn and used.  "I also suppose that I owe you for that...so how can I help?" His eyes warily looked to the other arrancar for but a moment, trying to figure out if there was some visual que...it wasn't like he could read thoughts.  He was almost half tempted to flee...but this kin of his had helped him and without knowing the enemy's strength it was hard to tell if he should retreat...then again if he hadn't sensed the enemy before that said something didn't it?

SUFRE HEVEL BARDALES
Arrancar
Location:Realm of the Living

𝖳𝖠𝖦𝖲:

A strange silence filled the atmosphere again. There was tension, and the air was starting to get heavy. Whether it was caused by the brewing storm a few miles away, or the aura surrounding the different spiritual beings, one could only guess.

The masked arrancar didn’t respond to his naive companion yet again. Instead, he didn’t leave his gaze towards the suspicious people below, who, in turn, stared at him in caution.

Sufre’s dark cloak danced with the wind, and so his char-coloured hair while the heavy clouds above didn’t move a bit. Analysing the situation, he knew this would be an inevitable fight. He was clueless as to what the other arrancar’s business was here; from the looks of it, he seemed to be just wandering around. Like a lost sheep, who didn’t know where to go.

Most of the arrancars in Las Noches seem to behave that way. They seem to be playing around, without a goal in mind.

Just like Escobedo, he thought.

Apart from the girl’s childish behaviour, she seemed to be a fine woman. A goddess of beauty, with charming serpentine eyes, and lips which tasted like honey. It was her who awakened his manly instincts again. Someone that had made his heart throb fast again, even when it was no more and was replaced by a large hole on his chest.

His wanderings of the past were shattered when the people below suddenly made their move. One aimed his rifle at the two, blasting bullets of spiritual energy in an attempt to wound them.

A quincy.

The bullets were followed by darts filled with poison.

When Sufre turned to his side, he barely escaped the attack, the dart, tearing a part of the right sleeve of his cloak.

One after another, the enemies charged at the two hollowed souls. Seeing them as threats, the mortals did all they could to keep the strangers at bay.

Mr. Tall, dark, and brooding was still determined to add silent to his list as well it seemed.  There was truly little the arrancar could do for his silent companion besides, perhaps, learning sigh language.  A sheet of paper or a chalkboard might also do the trick, now that he thought about it.  Still, he didn't have either on hand and at the moment he wasn't quit sure where he could find either.  What he did know was how to fight, the quincies and humans below the pair moving to attack them.  He held out a finger and let his riatsu flare to life.  While he was an arrancar the energy he gave off was almost like a shinigami's but more primal and bottomless.  "BAKUDĹŚ #41: KYĹŚMON" he'd say, the invisible barrier springing to life before the rifle shots and poison darts.  Some of those fell back down upon their would be attackers, giving them a taste of their own medicine.

He took a moment to glance at his companion, curious how he was doing.  Only superficial damage, it seemed.  Nezuel raised his other hand, gathering electric energy in it even as the clouds above them seemed to herald the attack he was about to give.  “Tame the wrath of Jupiter, call it forth to be used by a mortal hand. HADĹŚ #4: BYAKURAI."  Three bolts of white energy extended from his fingertips towards each enemy, weak enough but with quite a bite penetrating power.  "So, I'll follow your lead," he'd say to his companion.  "Whats the plan?"

SUFRE HEVEL BARDALES
Arrancar
Location:Tokyo, Japan

𝖳𝖠𝖦𝖲:

Sufre did not think the mortals would be this skilled. Add to the fact that they were outnumbered. And as much as he hated to admit, they had to back down and retreat.

He looked back to his new companion who seemed to be doing fairly well. Putting up a barrier was a great idea to block simultaneous attacks, indeed. However, that also limits his counter. The poisoned darts bounced back to the enemies, though they dodged with pretty much ease.

Then they formed a box, each to all corners with the clueless arrancar at the centre. With their palms raised to his direction, they were attempting to suck out the spiritual energy out of the boy.

Sufre immediately dashed to him, his wired knife fully charged with electric current trying to sever the connection.

“Retreat.” He finally blurted out. His voice, a husky low-tone coming out from someone who seemed to be done and tired with the world. Tired of killing, tired of roaming around with no purpose. Or at least, that was how he felt after all those years.

With a struggle, he summoned a garganta and grabbed the other arrancar. The landscape turned into a desert of white gloomy sand and obsidian sky, though briefly, and then switching into a sub-urb in Tokyo. A few meters away from a shop by the name of Tendo Shoten.

They’d see two shinigami about to enter the shop, one with blonde hair wearing a witch’s hat, the other with flowing black hair who was far taller than the other.

The arrancar already encountered the taller shinigami twice. Although, today was unintentional.

“I guess, I have to come back another day,” he thought to himself, turning to the other direction without saying anything to his new companion. Though his heavy sigh might be telling he ought to have business with the shop owner. If the other arrancar was keen enough, he’d be able to figure that out.

Nezuel ability to use kido as an arrancar was still something he was experimenting with and although the move had, perhaps, been a surprise to those that attacked him it seemed like they were a cut above the average foot soldier.  Dodging the reflections from their own attacks wouldn't have been a problem if his barrier had been stronger and hadn't cracked from that single barrage of needles, he would have been able to cut off one of the directions the enemy came for him and perhaps escape that way.  As it was they had surrounded him and were sucking the riatsu from him...a fact that he found rather ironic given it was his preferred method of fighting.

Then wonders of wonders, the mysterious stranger spoke and...saved him.  He was unsure the method he used to travel so swiftly between dimensions, but he recognized the landscape of Hueco Mundo before the pair of them landed in the mortal world...although it seemed like a totally different region and time.

He got up, dusting himself off as he looked around.  The first thing he noticed, of course, were the shinigami that were nearby.  Although they were mortal enemies and Nezuel had just fled a deadly encounter with other mortal enemies, he figured that the mysterious stranger who had just saved him was unlikely to just drop him off with someone who was going to be hostile.  Yet one of them, the one in the witch's had, gave Nez pause.

His mind returned to the few times he'd seen that witch's hat, the shop infront of them one such place where she had taken him for her mission...the mission that once done meant she didn't need him anymore.  There were...several things he needed to talk to her about, mainly the kido that she had placed on him that was drawing hollows to him.  But while he might want that kido removed, he wasn't willing to endanger Tendo's shop to do it.  The shinigami used the place as a shop and the Hollow Queen would no doubt love to destroy it.

So Nez reached out to his new freind, kido wrapping around the two of them as a black garganta swallowed them.  When his impovised fast speed movment was done the two of them were atleast a mile away from the shop. With that he turned to his mostly silent new freind "Ah, where to now?"

Sufre noticed the smallest of details. How the arrancar was evasive of the shop. He was uncertain though, whether it was because he knew that the proprietor was a former shinigami or something else. Whatever the case, he'd comment on it and see if he could probe deeper than what was obvious.

“It seems you had history with that shop,” the arrancar replied, noting what the other soul had done.

“Just to be clear, I have no intention of handing you down to that shop owner, whatever your crimes against him are,” he’d turn around, waving, walking away from the clueless arrancar. He already talked too much with him, and he felt no responsibility for clarifying whatever was going on in his mind.

It was during this time that another mysterious soul appeared before him, “Snob, as always, eh? Sufre?” the voice would be heard right before them, the man appeared leaning back against the walls near a light post.

Sufre merely gave him a glare, but the man merely chuckled at the taunt.

“Greetings, young lad,” the raven haired, muscular man waved at the smaller arrancar, “Quite unfortunate to be paired with this grumpy old man, eh?” the mysterious guy would walk past Sufre, while the latter glared at him.

“Must be an accident you wind up here. The old guy’s practicing some teleportation techniques. Usually utilising it during dangerous missions. I pressume you had quite an encounter today? Can you tell me about it? You see, this grumpy guy here doesn’t talk too much, does he? Mind filling me in?”

Nezuel shook his head.  "No crime against the shop keeper, my concerns are more with the company he is currently keeping...or perhaps customers might be a better word for it." The arrancar didn't see a reason to lie to another of his kind, especially when he had helped him get away from those quincies and humans.  He was surprised on how much the arrancar seemed to be talking, perhaps it was simply because of the presence of enemies...a thought that settled in his head a little when they had someone else join in on their conversation.

Nezuel's eyes roamed the newcomer, senses beyond sight reaching out to try and see what they could figure out.  He must have been suppressing his riatsu because he couldn't tell much from him besides the fact that he didn't have a mask fragment...so not an arrancar.  He was curious, first of all, what an arrancar was doing all by themselves so far away from the gaze of the queen...but perhaps the arrancar wasn't as alone as he had originally thought.

He looked at the arrancar, Sufre, for permission before he started to speak to the man.  The newcomer seemed a little rude, speaking of the arrancar like he wasn't there so he didn't wish to offend her further.  "We were in Constantinople, some quincies and humans were on a boat, they spotted us before he whisked us away here...to Tendo shop." Nez moved a finger up to scratch his neck.  "From there I teleported us away, to here."

He took a step forward, holding out a hand to the stranger.  "Greeting, by the way, my name is Nezuel."  He'd have introduced himself by his rank but...that wasn't really applicable now was it.  Still, if the stranger had eyes to see he would notice the three letters on Nezuel's outstretched hand.

“Nice to meet you, Nezuel,” Altair greeted with a smile. From what the arrancar just told him, it seemed Sufre had been keeping his eye on the Order.

Altair had a fair share of his own investigations. The last one, however, was a few months ago at a charity ball in Poland. Two blonde quincies attempted to get a piece of the prized Hogyoku in the guise of jewelry at the auction. Apparently, not only was the Vatican interested in it, as a pair of fullbringers also kept their eye on it, and were the successful ones who bought the shard.

In the auction, they brought another fullbringer with them, who in the middle of the night disappeared with the boy Quincy like Cinderella fleeing away with her prince charming. Valentina was her name, he was supposed to talk her out of it until she decided to ditch him and went with the blonde teen instead.

“So, you’re still following them huh?” The raven-haired man quipped, by this time, the arrancar had put on his mask again, ignoring both his acquaintances. Sufre reached out his hand to nowhere, summoned a garganta, and disappeared from their sight.

Altair merely sighed at the cold shoulder the arrancar gave him, “Man’s really grumpy like that. You’ll have to get used to it.”

“So, you say you teleported away from the shop? Were you avoiding someone? Do you know the customers, or either one of them?”

The stranger didn't offer Nezuel his name nor return the hand offered to him, but a smile was exchanged, which was better than nothing.  The arrancar moved the hand he ha outstretched back to his side as Sufre opened a garganta and left.  Nez didn't say anything as the other arrancar left, but he was slightly disappointed as he was left with the shinigami before him.  He hadn't met with another arrancar that was not under the Queen thumb...though perhaps that was just an assumption on his part.  Still, by the fact that he was still relatively intact, he could think that the arrancar didn't serve the Queen.  He felt like he was starting to get under the other arrancar's hierro and he had started to talk far more than he had before.

"You were teasing him, somewhat." he would say, looking at the shinigami.  "But I suppose some familiarity between the two of you allows you that privilege."  He narrowed his eyes at the shinigami, not really sure what he should tell him.  He knew his limits, at the least, and while he might not have liked the way it turned out he still had some honor to uphold when it came to telling others about who, or what, he was avoiding.

"There is someone in there I don't particularly want to meet at the moment, that is true." he'd decide, choosing to be vauge.  "But besides that...hollows have been following me for a while and I'd prefer not to have them locate and zero in on the location of that shop...the shopkeeper seems a decent enough sort for what little I interacted with him."

“I see,” It was obvious that the boy didn’t want to delve into it further. Whatever the reason was, Altair could only guess. Being from different races should be enough of an excuse to withhold information anyway. As an intel, that much he knew.

However, maybe a little more probing could provide him more context. Not that he was being nosy. He just had the natural curiosity to look into things, be it as complex as something as the Order or as simple as figuring out what pisses off his friend, Sufre.

It was quite odd, however, to learn that he was being followed by hollows. That doesn’t happen normally, as sometimes, arrancars could make these lesser beings follow them. At least, from what he witnessed so far with Sufre.

He’d start sodding off away from the shop. He didn’t have any urgent matters to tell Tendo anyway; and besides, from what this short arrancar guy told him, it seemed that he had some unexpected visitors.

“So, would you mind telling me why you were being chased by hollows? Is that something they instinctively do? Or were they chasing you for a reason?”

The behaviours of hollows were still not clear to him. While true, he had known Sufre for a long time now since they teamed up in their own secret organisation while the guy was alive. But after that, he had no idea what happened to him except for his unusual powers. His personality, his behaviour, didn’t change at all. And while they remained “friends” after all this time, Sufre didn’t really bother telling him anything.

Nezuel continued to consider the man in front of him, mentally thinking about him and trying to figure him out as the two of them talked. His question wasn't an odd one compared to the one about Tendo's shop, it would concern most people that hollows were following someone around but...should he really tell him? Certainly he couldn't say anything, that might seem to suspicious or hostile...and while he may have disliked how things ended with Irisa's feelings on him rather clear...to just say such a thing and make it a secret no longer seemed...a cheap move.

"I upset the queen by bringing a shinigami into her court." Nez would state, choosing to tell part of the truth. It kept the important part, mainly the kido that sill lingered there, secret. "She had the shinigami fight for our lives....during the fighting I intervened and killed a few arrancars." He would shrug "The lives are less of an issue to the Queen, but I damaged her arena so she sentenced me to death." His thoughts went to the kido that Irisa had used and the tether the Queen used to find him from it. It would be difficult to explain that while not outright saying it...but he'd already dig himself into this hole.

"The Queen has a method of tracking me...knowing where I am, so she sends her servants...so far it hasn't been anything stronger than a Gillian but...the next step would be to send more than one of them at me."
