Sparks flew as the large shinigami’s sword strikes were guarded. Koshou’s knelt position making it easy for him to stab his blade into the ground for protection from his linear assault, with no need to change levels for variety. Even still the force behind Bosake’s sword and his sixth division teammates combination attack was sure to have pushed the beasts defenses to its limit. It was hard to tell visually as Koshou revealed a patented smile that could have indicated virtually anything. Perhaps he was smiling because of the thrill of the fight? Pain? Or something different altogether?

There was no way to be sure, but the relevance of it changed nothing for the robust soul reaper. Sachio’s assault seemed to mirror his last attempt, with his byakurai falling short yet again unfortunately. His partners success seeming to stem from unseen effects that the colossal shinigami could only imagine as he had not current way to fathom the afflictions. While the success of Sachio’s tactics were a positive, their invisible effects made it hard to know exactly how to help, or how effective they truly were against their opponent.

Koshou’s last pair of attacks were marked with a sluggish wane, and while it seemed that same air was upon him, his movements seemed to have been restored to full power as the beast rushed him with a feral assault. The masked reaper found it interesting that he was switching his focus solely to the giant and not trying to split their focus as he’d attempted prior.

“That should make this a bit easier then.” Bosake thought, figuring a direct assault against him solely was a lot less of a burden than having to defend himself and Sachio simultaneously. Koshou’s excess purple-black reishi pulsated like a heavy tide as it propelled him at speeds the armored giant could not truly keep up with. Luckily, his scarabs were in place to spare him the trouble as they collectively shielded him from the pair of strikes. As they did so, Bosake took the time to gather his focus and load up on a pair of steadied cross strikes aimed down the middle of each of Koshou’s shoulder blades.

“It seems I’ve finally earned your undivided attention!” Bosake exclaimed in the midst of his attacks, truly flattered at Koshou’s nonverbal recognition of his capabilities. It meant as far as he could tell that he was at the very a least an obstacle that could not be ignored. He just hoped his partner would be able to capitalize while he kept the beast busy.
