With a grin on her face, Val watched the colossus swing its chain blade, both speed and beauty behind its movements - and yet, they reached nothing except the ground, which they cut through with ease. Once again, the Shinigami leapt out of the way, using his powers to vanish at the last second and reappear a short distance later, unharmed. It meant that he wasn't causing any damage to Val herself, and she was sure that the Shinigami could not keep this up forever - but her Fullbring did not have an infinite amount of energy, either.

Yeah, screw this.

As soon as the blade of the colossus's scythe popped back into place, the woman pulled a switch to allow the massive Fullbring to continue operating on his own, and then she kick-opened the cockpit to crawl on the giant's head.

"HEY!" Val suddenly yelled, her hands cupped in front of her mouth to amplify her voice. "Not to disrupt your prayer or whatever, but this is getting really boring!"

The colossus did not waste time, transforming its left arm into a set of multiple autocannons and aiming it towards the Shinigami.

"Can you stand still for one minute and let my giant magic space robot blow you up, please?!"

Whether he listened or not would get tested almost immediately - all the autocannons suddenly fired, releasing a massive barrage of bullets and Reishi bolts.

It seemed as if there was no end to the barrage of weaponry that Valentina was capable of spouting out. No matter how many attacks she fired out, no matter how many times Yoshinori dodged her, she seemed determined to bring out an even deadlier arsenal to fire upon him, intent to continue trying until something succeeded in snuffing him out. Was there any limit to her abilities?

This was an interesting predicament indeed.

Time was beginning to run out, and Soul Virus didn't seem to be acting upon her body fast enough for the Shinigami to squeeze our a victory by simply waiting for the small dosage of poison that had entered his opponent's body to take real effect. Given the level of artillery she kept pumping out versus his own stamina levels, Yoshinori guessed he'd only be able to last a few moments longer before making a spectacular tactical retreat.

As the autocannons expelled their lethal mass Yoshinori's way, the Shinigami narrowed his eyes before his form would begin to flicker several times, vanishing and reappearing over the course of several seconds in the general vicinity, as if avoiding the barrage of Reishi bullets. His impressive display of speed did keep the silver haired man from being killed on impact, for such a large quantity of reishi blasts would have certainly ended the poor man's life. However, he did not come out unscathed this time. As the last barrage came his way, Yoshinori vanished once more before reappearing several meters away, blood staining his robes a dark red as blood seeped from several new bullet wounds. If it weren't for the fact that Shinigami were more durable than humans and capable of withstanding more grievous injuries without succumbing to...well, death, then Yoshinori would most certainly be dead.

However, that didn't mean that shit like this didn't hurt like hell. Gritting his teeth, Yoshinori set his arms out once more, summoning yet another concentrated ball of flame as he sought to resort to Kido once more

"Hadō #31. Shakkahō" Yoshinori cried out before firing the ball of reishi concentrated flame towards the large robot.

Val thought she was loud and clear with her request - nay, demand. And yet, the Shinigami acted like he hadn't even heard it, dodging the colossal robot's attacks like there's no tomorrow. And yet, it was getting clear that the man did not have much left to go - he didn't come out unscathed this time, and though he was still clearly able to keep fighting, even a little damage can trickle down to something wonderful eventually.

Valentina folded her arms, standing proudly on her colossal Fullbring's head, unfazed by the Shinigami suddenly tossing a powerful energy blast her way. When the massive scythe cut through the Kido attack like paper, one of its halves sped right at the Fullbringer, only for her to casually turn her head to the side and come out unscathed.

"Unorthodox answer to my demand, but WRONG!" she suddenly yelled, and hearing those words, the colossus moved in to attack once more. It suddenly slammed its scythe to the ground and cupped its palms, gathering spiritual energy between them and summoning a ball of Reishi. As soon as the attack grew powerful enough to outshine everything in the battlefield, the colossus stretched its arms forward and released the attack as a massive beam of pure, white hot energy.

Now containment was becoming an issue.

Not to say that a giant robot tearing through the park with its weapons of pure death wasn't enough of a containment issue already, but one look at the energy levels that Valentina was building up with the energy she was charging up was enough to bring about a rather large degree of concern. Yoshinori wasn't sure the level of destruction that would result from such a large attack, but could safely guess that it was a bit more than the park could handle. Collateral damage of course wasn't his sole concern.

He was in trouble too.

Yoshinori was reaching his limit. His energy levels were dipping fast, and he predicted that he had about another two to five minutes of combat before Dōsojin forcibly reverted back into its sealed form, leaving him at his opponent's mercy. Common sense was screaming at him to make a tactical retreat now, before he could sustain any more serious injuries that could possibly prevent him from leaving, however he simply couldn't leave just yet. Part of him wanted to see a bit more. To see just how much energy this woman was capable of pumping out. He wanted to push his limits and keep the fight going, even if the information he stood to gain didn't compare to the risk.

So push himself he did.

As Valentina unleashed her powerful blast of reishi, Yoshinori took a deep breath, before crossing his arms across his chest in an X formation, calling upon his own Reiryoku. His body began to emanate a bright red outline of energy as he sought to buffer his body's own conditioned constitution, created an aura shield of sorts against the attack. As the energy beam slammed into his form, Yoshinori felt himself immediately thrown backwards, the impact force of the blast knocking him for a loop. His arms burned as the attack tore through his aura shield and into his flesh, but he withstood the blast with surprising resilience, loud and labored grunts escaping him as he struggled against the beam for a few seconds, before suddenly vanishing from sight once more, creating enough room for the Shinigami to zip away with yet another Shunpo.

Positioning himself directly above the cockpit in which Valentina commanded the robot, the horribly injured Shinigami would outstretch his right palm, yellow colored tendrils of electricity beginning to coalesce upon the limb, before an orb of charged, volatile electricity would spawn forth from the center of his palm.

Sealed Ball


From his palm, the orb of electricity would erupt into a large lightning bolt which would then rain down upon Valentina in a destructive beam heading directly for the cockpit. Gritting his teeth, Yoshinori's hair would be whipped back from the discharge backlash, his eyes narrowed as he observed what Valentina would do as her defense.

"I have to ask, cuz now the party's almost over! You're not Quincy, I know that full well now! Who are you?!"

Watching the massive energy wave crash upon the Shinigami with satisfaction, Val raised her hand to the side, awaiting her weapon to arrive to her. And sure enough, the Fullbring colossus followed her orders - raising its scythe and allowing a single blade to break off, which immediately turned into an another, smaller scythe for a human to wield. Something about the scene told her that the Shinigami was going to be tough enough to survive that. Their species can get pretty darn durable when placed under stress.

And, sure enough, not only was the Shinigami still standing after that destruction, but he had enough of a fight left in him to retaliate. This time, in the form of a blast of sparking electricity, tossed from one hand straight at her. With a grin on her face, Val ran forward - she sped across the colossus's shoulder and arm and then leapt to the air in order to cut through the incoming orb with her scythe. Slashed across by the powerful weapon, it split in half and dissipated.

The colossus did not stay idle - suddenly, it sent its fist forward, slamming it into the Fullbringer in order to propel her across the air - raising her weapon as she flew, Val sent a wide swing across the air, and then refused to stop.

Vertically, horizontally, anywhich way, she attacked relentlessly - after all, if pummeling the man with Reishi blasts and bullets wasn't going to cut it, then she just needs to get a little closer to finish the job. For a thrilling conclusion to the attack, Val suddenly propelled herself to aim to slash past the Shinigami and dramatically stop before him, with her scythe resting on her shoulder.

"I thought you Shinigami know everything you need to know about us Fullbringers already," she calmly replied to the question and glanced over her shoulder. "A question for a question. What is your wildest dream, Shinigami?"

"Wildest dream, huh? What a...interesting question."

Blood cascaded down the man's abdomen as a nasty gash was left horizontally across the waist from Valentina's Scythe. The blade didn't bisect the man clean in too, but the wound was deep, and the pain near unbearable. With a soft sigh, Yoshinori's Zanpakuto would reseal itself, the blade returning to its standard form, gripped loosely in Yoshinori's right hand. In air he stood, back to back against the Fullbringer.

He had reached his limit. His Shikai was becoming too taxing to maintain, and Soul Virus was much too slow to cooperate with him this time. He had taken the risk by continuing the fight past what he deemed to be a safe bet, and as a result had suffered for it. Any sane man would have moved to retreat once he found the fight wasn't going in his direction, information gathering or not. Yoshinori's continued persistence was most likely the mark of a fool, and a suicidal one at that.

Yet what was life without a little potential death sprinkled in there, right?

His left hand shakily raising to his lips, a blue tendril of reishi would gather upon his pointer finger, materializing into the smoking pipe that he had discarded early on in the fight. Bringing it to his lips, Yoshinori took a sharp inhale, before the smoke billowed out from his lips into air.

"Guess you earned that much, Fullbringer. My wildest dream is to prevent another me from ever existing. The part that makes it wild is that I've probably failed at that attempt ten thousand times over. Besides that...I want to one day find my family. But that's not nearly as dramatic as the first statement. Don't you agree?" Yoshinori mused, tapping his kiseru against his lip, before letting out a groan, stepping forward and away from Valentina, sheathing his sword.

"My mission's complete. Glad we could reach an agreement to not kill each other. I hope we can meet again sometime, Fullbringer. Under more desirable terms. Maybe tea?"

Not waiting for an answer, Yoshinori suddenly opened his right palm, turning to direct it towards Valentina in one smooth, swift motion.

"Bakudō #21. Sekienton"

Sealed Ball


He didn't trust Valentina to let him get away, of course. And even if he did, he didn't trust the woman not to try and follow him. So, he figured he'd take the choice out of her hands either way. Summoning the last bit of Reiryoku that he had at his disposal, Yoshinori executed one of his favorite Bakudo spells, his outstretched palm glowing bright red before the area around the pair exploded in a haze of thick, red smoke. Once obscured by the smoke, Yoshinori would vanish from sight, utilizing what little endurance he had remaining to make a quick getaway from the scene, zipping away into town. Interesting. Usually it takes a bit more effort to push her opponents to tell her about what she wants - and Val wasn't going to fault them, after all, anyone would be a little hesitant to tell their personal secrets to a person who has just smashed their teeth in. The Shinigami, however, was surprisingly open, and as soon as Val presented him that question, he began formulating his answer.

The man's response was coated in flowery language, but it didn't take Val much time to figure out what he meant - especially after he added the fact that he wanted to see his family again immediately after. A righteous type who has suffered in life and has taken the art of the sword in order to make sure that nobody else goes through the same as them. It was something which Val could sympathize with - after all, in a way, she was living the exact same crusade right now.

Kind of a shame that they've had to cross blades, and so violently, but such are the laws of the land while the balance of souls is still not yet-

"Huh?!"

Hearing the Shinigami's final statement, Val turned towards him in full, in a mix of confusion and anger.

"Hey-hey, don't go around making up agreements here, that was just a ceasefire, not a-"

Instead of an answer, the woman instead received an explosion of smoke, almost straight into her face, which obscured the entire battlefield. She didn't waste no time and swung her scythe across the air to whip up a gust of wind, but by the time the haze had cleared out, the Shinigami was already gone. "...Dick."

Striking a mechanically "sad" expression, the Fullbring colossus sat down.
