A smile on Hequita's face flashed, turning wider and more maddening, while his eyes glared with fanatical enthusiasm.

"Yes, my Queen!"

For once, Her Majesty, beautiful, alluring, has noticed him - and with an important mission to give, no less. One that was important to the safety and survival of Hueco Mundo himself. Six hundred years of work to finally be in her sight - it was worth it. Without further ado, Hequita bowed almost to the ground, then stepped out of the hall of the Queen with confidence. Along the way, he grabbed a lesser Hollows and Arrancar who were unfortunate enough to walk past him, and were thus bowed into joining the mission by his might.

While he was certain he could accomplish this mission alone, he could always bring a few weaklings to throw into the meat grinder, as a distraction.

According to her benevolent majesty, an installation of sorts was placed in the wastes of Hueco Mundo, and has activated, destroying everything in its vicinity and threatening to unleash its waves further. Hequita was tasked to find out a way to stop it, or neutralize it in some way, while also dispatching of whoever was responsible for placing that weapon in the Queen's domain in the first place. No one violates the realm of Her Majesty and gets away unscathed.

Hequita and his group, ten or so Hollows gathering behind him, approached the site from atop a cliff which oversaw the testing site - just in time to witness a concussive wave unleashed from the center of a rocky plain. Hequita was still distant enough to not be immediately affected, but he could witness the destructive capacity of the pulse. As it was growing in intensity with each blast, they had a limited amount of time before the weapon's effect engulfs a large enough area that its core is simply impossible to reach between each pulse.

In the corner of his eye, the child-like Arrancar saw an ongoing fight scene. A Gillian was rampaging, rampaging against...

Shinigami...

What are Shinigami doing here? Were they involved with this superweapon? One of the Adjuchas that Hequita forced to follow him made a step forward, ready to charge at the Shinigami, but his commander raised his hand in front of the creature's chest, stopping it.

He wanted to see where this squad stood and what their intentions were, before he made a move to crush them.

Between the remaining Quincy soldats and the Gillian, the 11th Division squad had their hands full. They had split into two teams, one dealing with the Quincy and the other wrangling the massive Hollow. It wasn't a large squad to begin with and now the team was split. Each smaller team consisted of about 3-4 Shinigami, not counting Momo who hadn't even drawn his zanpakuto yet. The white haired Shinigami used shunpo to move between the various skirmishes going on. He would pop up, heal a wound, then disappear and reappear somewhere else to heal another injury.

While he was tending one of the fallen Shinigami, a blue arrow tore into his shoulder. He didn't even look up, but instead continued pouring reishi into the woman lying on the ground. When she was stable and ready to get back into the fight, he finally treated his own wound. He slid the mustard colored haori down so his should was exposed. Beneath it, he wore a black sleeved adornment that covered the arm usually hidden by his haori. There was a hole punched through his shoulder. The blood was running down his arm. He patched it with a quick healing kaido spell and was about to go back out when he heard a soft, but stern voice in his mind.

"You should be using me instead of wasting your reishi on spells."

Momo shook his head.

"This is a new squad. They don't know about you. Besides, other people don't like when I heal them that way. This is fine for now."

He felt a faint touch on his cheek, soft and delicate. A smile crept along his face and then he disappeared from his spot.

At the center of the anomaly laid a figure in the fetal position. They were in pain, tears streaming down their face. It was a girl, blonde hair and green eyes. She convulsed as tremors shook her body. Her eyes glowed a bright white color and then another shock wave launched in all directions as she cried out in agony.

The Shinigami were embroiled in battle, it seems - and not just against their fellow Hollows, but against a group of Quincies, too. Guessing from the fact that the balancers were on the defensive and the Quincies stood closer to the centre of the superweapon, Hequita ran with the assumption that it was actually the Quincies who were responsible for its deployment.

It hardly mattered, of course. It only determined which of the two factions will have to be destroyed first.

Yet again, a powerful burst was unleashed from the centre of the plain, rolling across the battlefield with a powerful wave. Hequita watched it unleash from atop the cliffside, his hair and white uniform waving in the powerful winds. Certainly, whatever was responsible for this destruction was powerful... and did he just hear someone's scream? As if a girl was being tortured, by someone who wasn't him.

Hequita rested his hand on his knee, first staring to the core of the plain, where the burst came from, then towards the battle closer by. Let the Quincies and the Shinigami tire themselves out. He, on the other hand, had more important matters to attend to.

"You two. To the centre. Destroy whatever is creating those bursts," Hequita ordered, laconically, to two of the Adjuchas that were following him. After faint, fearful grunts, they launched themselves to the air and flew forth, drawing their fangs and claws and ready to strike.

They are going to die. That was clear, and he was fine with that. However, this is exactly what he brought these grunts for - by sending a suicidal charge of a few of his Hollow minions, he can witness exactly how this superweapon can brutally murder a person, and prepare for it.

The blast rippled outward in a thunderous wave. The terrain in all directions was ripped up into a flurry of debris, smoke, and wind. The crater forming around the device grew exponentially, almost tripling in size by the time this blast roared outwards. Bolts of charged spiritual energy surged around the dome of the explosion like electricity crackling over it's surface. Whatever was at the center was generating it's own reiatsu pressure which felt just as strong as the Gotei 13's Captain Commander's own intimidating aura.

The rolling shock waves hit first. They slammed into those who were fighting each other and sent them flying away in various degrees of disarray. The large Gillian was the least affected by the wave. It pushed him back but he dug in and braced himself. Due to his sheer size, he was able to withstand the worst of it.

Then came the actual explosive force which expanded outward and destroyed everything in its path. Quincy and Shinigami both were there one moment and gone the next. Even the huge Gillian wasn't able to withstand the force of the blast. While it didn't completely obliterate him like it did with the smaller beings, it did manage to fling his giant form like a ragdoll out to the edge of the current blast radius.

When the eruption finally subsided the surrounding area of stone and sand was completely glassed over as if something incredibly hot had fused over it, melting the very particles until they were indistinguishable from one another. The surface was glossy and slick, scattered with the remains of boulders, stones, sand, and other debris.

Out near the edge of the blast zone, the large Gillian lay silent. It was sprawled out, the winged parts of its arms shredded and one of its legs was facing the wrong direction. Suddenly the giant monster's fist started to move. The fingers uncurled to reveal a white haired Shinigami that had been snatched up prior to the blast.

Momo forced his way out and looked around, trying to get his bearings. The monster was still breathing but it was out cold and probably would be for awhile. He set his hand on it's large claws and smiled.

"Thank you. If you hadn't grabbed me, I probably wouldn't have survived that."

Of course, the Gillian had intended to eat or smash Momo, but that didn't really matter to him. He placed a barrier around the creature so that if there was another blast, it would be somewhat protected. It was all he could do because of the Hollow's size. Hopefully Momo could defuse the situation before that happened.

He started to make his way towards the center, using the markings on the ground from the explosion as a compass to point him where he needed to go. He stopped at each body he found, but none were in a state that he could help them. It seemed his whole squad was wiped out in one fell swoop.

As he approached about halfway to the center, he noticed the charged particles and electric currents forming. The hairs on his body stood on end. Suddenly he witnessed two rather beefy Hollows, possibly Adjuchas tier, race towards the now glowing center. He reached out towards them and yelled. They either didn't hear or ignored him.

Just as they were about to reach it, the next shock wave surged outwards and knocked them away. Then, far quicker than the previous one, the main eruption of spiritual energy roared to life once more, laying waste to everything in its path. The Hollows attempted to shield themselves from it, but they were vaporized almost instantly.

Momo's eyes went wide. He saw the shock wave racing towards him, followed by the explosive force of the blast. His hands quickly moved to the center of his chest as he quickly formed several hand signs in rapid succession. Just before the wave hit him, a barrier wall was erected between Momo and the blast. It was clear, but had the symbol of the 4th division circled by the symbol for the Kido Corp.

It was a spell called Hakudan Keppeki and its sole purpose was to expel Quincy. Momo surmised the blast was Quincy in origin so he took a gamble that the spell would protect him from it and it did... for a moment.

The kido wall cracked and shattered after only a few seconds and Momo was sent flying again. He tumbled across the ground and groaned.

"Okay... get up Momo..."

Watching the fate of the two Adjuchas, Hequita giggled under his breath, drinking in their destruction lavishly, as a feast to the eyes. Much like he expected, the two creatures were completely vaporized by the next burst - unfortunately, however, he was not able to glean much of a weakness from the result. All it revealed to him was that whatever was at the centre was able to summon these destructive waves to defend itself, so simply approaching it was not going to work.

With the corner of his eyes, the Arrancar saw that one of the Shinigami was still kicking down below. The rest of the squad were now no more than bodies strewn across the plain, and the Quincies were hardly in a better situation, so the man, who struggled against the blast and was stumbling across the ground, was the last survivor of the battle that took place there mere minutes ago.

He was a bit more durable than the rest. Perhaps Hequita can put this man to use while he figures out how to dispatch of this superweapon.

Using Sonido to propel himself off the cliff and speed through the ruined battlefield, Hequita stopped besides Momo, with a brief slide across the ground that whipped up a small puff of dust. Since they clearly did not have much time in between each burst, he moved as quickly as he could.

"So," he spoke, arms folded behind his back, and his face staring towards the core of the superweapon, not even offering a glance to Momo. "Tell me, was it your kin or was it the Quincy who set up this weapon? It hardly matters, of course - whether or not it was your doing, you are now recruited as cannon fodder for the mission to shut it down."

Momoshiro didn't know how long he had until the next burst of energy ripped through the area. His mind raced, trying to figure out some way to resolve this issue with only his limited means. However, on the outside he appeared as calm as could be, standing and staring towards the origin of the dangerous blasts. His body was peppered with cuts and scrapes, but nothing to be concerned about. His white tail swayed behind him. His white ears perked up, listening as he considered his options.

Then, suddenly, an Arrancar (he assumed) appeared next to him.

"So, tell me, was it your kin or was it the Quincy who set up this weapon? It hardly matters, of course - whether or not it was your doing, you are now recruited as cannon fodder for the mission to shut it down."

Momo turned to look at the much shorter, younger boy who was now standing next to him with his arms crossed. A look of concern swept over his face, followed by a stern warning.

"You should leave this area. It isn't safe."

At the center of the now massive crater, sat the small Quincy girl. She was still crying and in pain. Whatever was happening to her was causing this devastation. She would enter a seizure like state, the destructive waves would race out from her, and then she would wake again just long enough to feel all the pain from the expenditure of spiritual energy before it all started over again. She couldn't control it and had no idea what to do.

Now that he stood much closer to the centre of the crater, Hequita could make out a shape in the very core that he figured was the superweapon responsible for the destruction. To his surprise, it was a girl, sitting on her knees. Though watching from such distance told him nothing about her facial expression, it did not seem like she was excited for battle. Whatever is going on might be paining her as much as her victims.

What a shame. She will leave a good looking corpse.

Hequita's attention was briefly drawn to the side, however, when the Shinigami he stopped next to spoke to him - concerned, he asked the Arrancar to stay back, out of danger. Though confused for a second, he quickly changed his expression - to a faint grin. It was his diminutive appearance, wasn't it? Sometimes, it gets his enemies to lower their guard - the pathetic weaklings hesitate to kill a child!

"But I just want to play with her, mister~" Hequita answered in a coy tone.

His eyes then shifted back towards the superweapon in the centre of the crater, and he clenched his chin in thought. "We should still have some time to try something else before the next burst... let's go by the scientific method. An attack from melee did not work, so let's see what her ranged defenses are."

Calmly, Hequita raised his hand, alarming his surviving Hollows.

"Fire Cero!"

Two of the Adjuchas followed orders, taking to the air and gathering energy in front of their horns while keeping their distance from the crater - then, they fired wide red-white beams towards the centre of the crater.

"But I just want to play with her, mister~"

Momo raised a brow at the Arrancar's response.

"We should still have some time to try something else before the next burst... let's go by the scientific method. An attack from melee did not work, so let's see what her ranged defenses are."

The Shinigami watched as the boy formulated a new plan. He ordered the Adjuchas following him to fire Cero blasts at the weapon which he referred to as "her." Momo looked up as the two Hollows leapt into the air, gathered the energy for the attack, and then unleashed it in a powerful beam of red/white energy.

Momo followed the course of the beams as they shot towards the weapon. It looked like they were about to strike the center when they slowed almost to a crawl and then stopped altogether right before hitting. The beam then broke apart into sections as if being deconstructed. The pieces dissolved into specks of spiritual energy, turned a blue color typical of the Quincy, and then looked to be absorbed into the person at the center.

When the next blast roared outward, it was noticeably larger and more powerful as if the Cero blasts had charged it up even more.

Momoshiro threw up 6 of those Hakudan Keppeki barrier walls in front of himself and the Hollows. It was no small feat and caused him visible strain. The first wall blew away almost instantly once the blast hit it. The second was destroyed almost as quickly, but the third held for a moment before cracking and breaking. The last three walls held even longer but all broke eventually. Thankfully they protected the small group until the blast had subsided.

He stared out towards the center of the destruction, thinking about how to possibly stop this.

Because of the distance it would be difficult to make out, but at the center where the girl sat... there was a good six foot radius around her that hadn't been touched by the destruction. There was a safe zone.

Trying to use ranged attacks was a mistake. Not only were the two cero which Hequita ordered down on the Quincy weapon completely ineffective, but the following burst of energy released across the battlefield was clearly far stronger than what they witnessed thus far. So, the entity had some sort of Reiatsu absorption as well. That's very annoying. Hequita still would not show weakness, however. There had to be a way how to destroy this weapon, nothing was without weakness.

The Shinigami stood in defense against the energy burst, raising six of the walls he used before, managing to soften and slow down the blow. Eventually, all of them broke down from the pressure, and Hequita, much like the Adjuchas and other Arrancars he brought to the battlefield, were forced to raise their hands in defense. Still, at least it meant they were merely scratched and singed instead of utterly consumed by the destruction.

Once the blast receded, Hequita slowly lowered his arms from his guard, staring intently at the even wider crater. The distance between them and the weapon was just as obscene as always, yet, he could still make out the shape in the core somewhat.

Wait a minute...

"This is interesting..." he muttered under his breath. He will need to get there as soon as possible, before the next burst begins - and so, as Hequita figured, there was no longer a need to hold back. Suddenly, the Arrancar pulled out his Zanpakuto, a rapier attached to his thigh, and yelled his release phrase:

"Moyasu!"

The Resurreccion suddenly consumed him with a burst of Pixel-Fire, coating him like a layer of armor, then receded. Not only did he appear a lot more intimidating transformed, with a suit of armor that had its visor replaced with a gaping maw, but he also stood a feet taller, in the shape of an adult man rather than a child.

Immediately, Hequita flew forward, followed by a trail of fire in the air, aiming to reach the superweapon as quickly as possible. His target - the apparent "safe zone" in the middle, where, as far as he could tell from the distance, nothing was being uplifted by the energy bursts.

Momoshiro wiped a bead of sweat away from his forehead. Those walls were costly to erect and all of the zipping around he did earlier was starting to take a toll on his spiritual energy reserves. If this kept up much longer he wouldn't be able to save anyone, let alone himself.

"This is interesting..."

The white-haired Shinigami glanced over at the Arrancar as the boy pulled out his Zanpakuto.

"Moyasu!"

The short Arrancar was then engulfed in a burst of pixelated fire which wrapped around him like a cocoon and then quickly receded to reveal a tall, muscular, angular, and intimidating new visage. His Resurreccion, Momo assumed. Then the armored Arrancar shot forward towards the center of the blast radius. Trailing behind him was the same kind of pixelated fire.

In the split second between Hequita launching forward and Momo chasing after, Momo realized the Arrancar must have noticed something, otherwise he wouldn't have put himself in harm's way. He had done everything he could to avoid dirtying his own hands so far. Exemplified by how he sent the other Hollows out to test his theories first. So the realization that he was onto something caused Momo to make a quick decision to follow after him.

The Arrancar made it rather quickly to the center and appeared in the safe-zone of the blast. Just before another shock-wave went out, Momo appeared next to him, skidding to a stop on the stone surface. His reappearance was so tumultuous that he almost stumbled entirely right out of the safe-zone. He waved his arms in backwards circular rotations until he regained his balance and rested on the back of his heels again.

He turned to face the young Quincy girl. She was just coming down from yet another seizure brought on by her uncontrollable powers. She had a visible Vollständig. A small blue halo and two tiny blue wings appeared out of her back. She had streaks of tears down her face. Her eyes were red and irritated. She was rocking back and forth on the ground. She looked to be maybe 9 or 10 years old.

Momo could feel his reishi being drained from him just being this close to her. She looked up to both of them, visibly frightened.

"I-I-I-I can't c-control i-it..."

To suddenly rush out of their defensive position and run right to the girl was an extremely bold move, predicated solely on the guess that the area around the girl was a safe zone - and, thankfully, that guess turned out to be correct. The Shinigami rushed after Hequita immediately after him, and both of them stopped in front of the girl - neither of them were touched by the subsequent energy release.

Genius. Hequita smiled to himself, then turned his attention to the girl. She resembled one of those human dependents, grown out of their females to raise their population - diminutive and childish. As soon as she saw Hequita and the Shinigami arrive, she began to mutter, explaining how she couldn't control the power pent up inside of her.

Whatever this was, it was not her doing - the Quincies must have done something to her to turn her into such a weapon. Poor thing, she's going to die in such a state.

Hequita went down to one knee in order to get on the same eye level as the girl. His maw opened, revealing it to be a Reishi construct armor - behind it was a handsome, though slightly feminine face.

"Don't worry, kid. We'll help you."

In a way.

Hequita stood back up and walked up to the Shinigami, whispering.

"Stab her."

No, of course he wasn't going to do it himself. Just being close to her was unnaturally draining - he had to know whether stabbing her won't result in getting disintegrated, or something.

As the white jaw pattern opened, Momo realized it was some type of visor instead of an actual set of teeth. Behind the adaptive visor was a different face than he had seen before. It was softer with longer blonde hair. Momo wondered how that worked. He knew Arrancar typically revert into a version of the original Hollow state but this seemed different.

Momo narrowed his eyes as the Arrancar knelt down and spoke with the child. Surprisingly his hand never went to his sword, but instead he held his hands at the ready off to his side as if anticipating that he'd need to cast a kido spell.

But then the Arrancar stated that they would help the girl, which surprised Momo and he started to relax a bit. His arms lowered slightly and his posture settled into something less defensive.

However that sense of ease did not last long as Hequita whispered to him once he had walked back over to the Shinigami.

Momo's eyes widened. His eyes moved to the girl and then back to the Arrancar. The Shinigami paused for a moment but then nodded and walked over to the girl. Once he was close to her and positioned between the two of them, he quickly threw up an inverted pyramid shaped barrier around Hequita.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot allow this child to be harmed."

He turned away from the trapped Hequita and crouched down so he could be at eye level with the girl. What he didn't notice was pieces of the barrier already being pulled away as the reishi was passively absorbed by the girl's powers.

He let his red eyes meet hers and smiled softly.

"It's going to be alright."

The girl looked up to him, almost not believing his words.

"What is your name, child?"

She rubbed her eyes a bit and then replied, her voice squeaking somewhat as she spoke.

"V-Viola."

He nodded and brought his hand up to his chest.

"My name is Momoshiro. It's really nice to meet you, Viola."

At this point, after being stripped and eaten by the girl's powers, the inverse pyramid barrier was weak enough for Hequita to break free easily.

Now, of course, Hequita expected resistance from the Shinigami. In spite of being immortal just like the Arrancar, they were a far more emotional race, and tolerated actions they deemed "evil", for how little that word meant, a lot less. However, he did not expect this.

Hequita immediately recognized the Inverse Mountain Crystal spell, and as soon as the frames of the entrapping barrier were set down, he ignited his flames. Pixelated fire burst forth from his body, especially his arms and legs, allowing him to strike the barrier with powered punches. Yet, they were not enough, while the Shinigami calmly walked up to the girl, introduced himself, and assured her again.

Can he not tell that this... thing could destroy everything, if not handled? Does he not have the brain power to comprehend that there is no reasoning with a superweapon?

Yet, not everything went against Hequita's favor. Once his first strikes failed to break through the barrier, the Arrancar raised his eyes, catching that the technique was turning increasingly brittle. It was not because of his abilities, but rather because of the weapon that he was trying to talk down - she must have some sort of effect on any Reiatsu, passively absorbing it whether it belonged to a person or an active technique.

In which case, all he needed was to wait, and catch the two unprepared once the technique inevitably collapses.

The Shinigami and the Quincy's weapon exchanged names - Momoshiro and Viola. Hequita briefly knelt down, picking up a rock from the ground next to him. Right on time, the first wide cracks opened in the Inverse Mountain Crystal, signaling that it was time to move.

Hequita raised his right hand. Behind Viola, a Garganta opened up with the flick of a finger, revealing the dark dimension on the other side after opening like a maw. Immediately, hopefully before either of them realized, the Arrancar made his next move - this was what he needed the rock for. If she can absorb Reishi, a Cero or any other spiritual attack will be useless, and the Shinigami won't let me get to melee range. With his left hand, he tossed the rock, using his Reiatsu to accelerate it to massive speeds, breaking through the barrier and aiming at Viola's skull - hopefully, tossing her into the Garganta with the knockback.
